Small Axial Fan Impeller (300-600mm)

Small Axial Fan Impeller (300-600mm)

Small axial fan impellers cover the 300-600 mm class, where a compact blade has to move a large air volume through a tight engine bay or a dense radiator core.

Small Axial Fan Impeller (300-600mm) — UTEK-DELE Axial Fan Range

The small impeller class is the hardest working part of the range. Engine compartments have grown denser with each emission stage, while the space left for the fan has shrunk, so a 300-600 mm impeller often has to do the job that a larger fan did on previous machine generations.

Three blade families cover this class: the fixed-angle H Series for stable duty points, the PMAX high-pressure blade on its plate hub for tight engine bays, and the 4XR aluminium blade for high-temperature zones. All three share the H hub family, which keeps the shaft interface and the service procedure consistent across a machine platform.

Blade count, material and hub are selected together against the duty point, so a single platform can be tuned for airflow, pressure or noise without changing the mounting.

Blade Materials and Temperature Range

Blade material is selected from the working temperature and from the atmosphere around the impeller:

MaterialCompositionTemperature rangeTypical duty
PAGPA6 with 30% glass fibre-40 °C to 110 °CHeavy-load cooling, anti-aging, general engine cooling
PAGASPA6 with 15% carbon fibre and 15% glass fibre (conductive)-30 °C to 100 °CDust and gas atmospheres where static discharge must be avoided
ALUDie-cast aluminium ADC12-40 °C to 150 °C, short-term 300 °C for 2 hHigh-temperature and fire-resistance zones

The conductive PAGAS option is supplied for equipment working in explosive-risk atmospheres such as dust or gas. It addresses the working environment of the blade; machine-level certification remains the responsibility of the equipment builder.

Hub Options

Blades are supplied with matched hub sets. The hub carries the blade loads and sets the shaft interface, so it is selected together with the blade count:

Hub typeWeightHub diameter
HUB H-60.27 kg / set96 mm
HUB H-80.41 kg / set133 mm
HUB H-100.57 kg / set172 mm
HUB H-120.805 kg / set206 mm

Typical Applications

This series is normally specified for the following duties:

  • Engine radiator cooling on tractors and construction machinery

  • Cooling in narrow engine bays with limited shroud clearance

  • Agricultural machinery working in dust and high ambient temperature

  • High-temperature zones where aluminium blades are required

Specification Support

When a fan is being specified or replaced, the following points are confirmed before a blade set is released. They are the same checks used for OEM programs and for retrofit projects.

  • Duty point: airflow and static pressure required at the working speed, taken from the cooling pack or ventilation requirement

  • Installation: available diameter, shroud clearance, mounting pattern and the shaft interface of the existing hub

  • Environment: maximum air temperature, dust or gas atmosphere, and whether static discharge has to be avoided

  • Drive: available power, belt or direct drive, and whether the fan has to reverse in service

  • Service: blade weight for handling during maintenance and spare-part availability across the machine fleet

Blade count, profile and material are then matched to those conditions in a fixed order: material first, then blade count, then hub family, with diameter confirmed against the shroud. Working in that sequence keeps the mechanical interface stable when the duty requirement changes later in the project, and it is why the same blade family can often stay in production while the cooling pack is revised.

Quality Assurance and Dynamic Balancing

Small impellers are moulded to a controlled geometry and balanced on a hand laser balancing machine before shipment, with the blade material batch recorded against the model so a replacement set matches the original.

Customization and Series Overview

Blade count, blade profile, hub family and material can be customized for OEM programs, and existing fans can be reviewed when airflow, noise or durability has to be improved on a running machine. Where the cooling pack sits close to exhaust or turbo components, the aluminium 4XR blade is normally specified instead of a moulded blade.
