PMAX3 High-Pressure Axial Fan For Agricultral And Construction Applications
The PMAX3 is a special-profile axial fan blade for high static pressure: 180-700 mm with nine blades on the PMAX plate hub, in PAG.
The PMAX Series is a compact high-pressure axial fan range for tight engine bays, built around the PMAX3 blade with nine blades, PAG material and a PMAX plate hub in the 180-700 mm class.
The PMAX Series is the high-pressure option in the small-diameter range. Its PMAX3 blade runs nine blades in the 180-700 mm class and is matched to a PMAX plate hub, a combination developed for powertrain cooling where the radiator and charge-air cooler are packed into a shallow engine bay.
Tighter emission stages pushed more heat into smaller spaces, and cooling packs had to grow without more room. The PMAX approach answers that by raising pressure at a compact diameter rather than increasing fan size, which keeps installation depth and blade weight under control on mobile equipment.
| Model | Blade angle | Blade count | Diameter range | Blade material | Hub | Product page |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PMAX3 | Special profile | 9 | 180-700 mm | PAG | PMAX plate | PMAX3 fan |
| PMAX6 | Special profile | On request | Quoted per project | PAG | PMAX plate | Quoted on request |
Both models use the PMAX plate hub; blade count and diameter are confirmed against the cooling pack before the impeller is released for production.
Blade material is selected from the working temperature and from the atmosphere around the impeller:
| Material | Composition | Temperature range | Typical duty |
|---|---|---|---|
| PAG | PA6 with 30% glass fibre | -40 °C to 110 °C | Heavy-load cooling, anti-aging, general engine cooling |
This series is normally specified for the following duties:
High-pressure powertrain cooling
Tier 4F and Tier 5 engine installations
Narrow engine bays with stacked coolers
Retrofit of compact cooling packs
When a fan is being specified or replaced, the following points are confirmed before a blade set is released. They are the same checks used for OEM programs and for retrofit projects.
Duty point: airflow and static pressure required at the working speed, taken from the cooling pack or ventilation requirement
Installation: available diameter, shroud clearance, mounting pattern and the shaft interface of the existing hub
Environment: maximum air temperature, dust or gas atmosphere, and whether static discharge has to be avoided
Drive: available power, belt or direct drive, and whether the fan has to reverse in service
Service: blade weight for handling during maintenance and spare-part availability across the machine fleet
Blade count, profile and material are then matched to those conditions in a fixed order: material first, then blade count, then hub family, with diameter confirmed against the shroud. Working in that sequence keeps the mechanical interface stable when the duty requirement changes later in the project, and it is why the same blade family can often stay in production while the cooling pack is revised.
Impellers are balanced on a hand laser balancing machine before shipment, and the blade geometry is controlled in production so replacement blades match the original set.
Blade count, blade profile, hub family and material can be customized for OEM programs, and existing fans can be reviewed when airflow, noise or durability has to be improved on a running machine. Where extra pressure is not required but high temperature is the limiting factor, the 4XR Series with aluminium blades is usually the better match.
