K6Z High Pressure Engine Cooling Fan For Industrial And Mechanical Applications
The K6Z is an adjustable-pitch axial fan blade for medium-diameter, high airflow fans: 180-1254 mm, 3 to 16 blades on the Z-3 hub, in PAG or conductive PAGAS.
The K Series covers 180-1254 mm with the K6Z and K7Z models, 3-16 blades and PAG or PAGAS materials on Z-3 hubs, designed for high airflow where installation space is narrow.
The K Series was developed for one requirement that keeps coming back on industrial equipment: move as much air as possible where the installation space is narrow. The K6Z and K7Z cover an unusually wide 180-1254 mm span with 3 to 16 blades on a single Z-3 hub.
That width comes from the blade profile rather than the hub, so a machine platform can use the same K Series hub and mounting across several fan sizes. For maintenance planning this means fewer spare parts, and for design work it means the cooling concept can be scaled without redesigning the drive interface.
| Model | Blade angle | Blade count | Diameter range | Blade materials | Hub | Product page |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| K6Z | Adjustable | 3-16 | 180-1254 mm | PAG / PAGAS | Z-3 | K6Z / K7Z axial fan |
| K7Z | Adjustable | 3-16 | 180-1254 mm | PAG / PAGAS | Z-3 | Quoted on request |
Blade count is selected against the available drive power and the required airflow, so a wide diameter range can be covered without changing the hub.
Blade material is selected from the working temperature and from the atmosphere around the impeller:
| Material | Composition | Temperature range | Typical duty |
|---|---|---|---|
| PAG | PA6 with 30% glass fibre | -40 °C to 110 °C | Heavy-load cooling, anti-aging, general engine cooling |
| PAGAS | PA6 with 15% carbon fibre and 15% glass fibre (conductive) | -30 °C to 100 °C | Dust and gas atmospheres where static discharge must be avoided |
The conductive PAGAS option is supplied for equipment working in explosive-risk atmospheres such as dust or gas. It addresses the working environment of the blade; machine-level certification remains the responsibility of the equipment builder.
Blades are supplied with matched hub sets. The hub carries the blade loads and sets the shaft interface, so it is selected together with the blade count:
| Hub type | Weight | Hub diameter |
|---|---|---|
| HUB Z-3 | 0.74 kg / set | 190 mm |
| HUB Z-5 | 0.86 kg / set | 157 mm |
| HUB Z-7 | 0.86 kg / set | 194 mm |
| HUB Z-12 | 2.045 kg / set | 285 mm |
| HUB Z-16 | 3.64 kg / set | 385 mm |
This series is normally specified for the following duties:
High airflow ventilation with limited installation space
Cooling of industrial equipment and enclosures
Dust environments where conductive blades are required
Platforms that need one hub across several fan sizes
When a fan is being specified or replaced, the following points are confirmed before a blade set is released. They are the same checks used for OEM programs and for retrofit projects.
Duty point: airflow and static pressure required at the working speed, taken from the cooling pack or ventilation requirement
Installation: available diameter, shroud clearance, mounting pattern and the shaft interface of the existing hub
Environment: maximum air temperature, dust or gas atmosphere, and whether static discharge has to be avoided
Drive: available power, belt or direct drive, and whether the fan has to reverse in service
Service: blade weight for handling during maintenance and spare-part availability across the machine fleet
Blade count, profile and material are then matched to those conditions in a fixed order: material first, then blade count, then hub family, with diameter confirmed against the shroud. Working in that sequence keeps the mechanical interface stable when the duty requirement changes later in the project, and it is why the same blade family can often stay in production while the cooling pack is revised.
Balancing is carried out on a hand laser balancing machine before shipment, and blade sets are recorded against the hub so that replacement parts stay interchangeable.
Blade count, blade profile, hub family and material can be customized for OEM programs, and existing fans can be reviewed when airflow, noise or durability has to be improved on a running machine. Where the duty favours low noise over maximum airflow, the sickle-bladed S Series is the closer match from the same hub family.
