Integrated Fans & Other Fans covers impellers built outside the standard blade-on-hub pattern: high-temperature PA66 and PES impellers, one-piece moulded fans where hub and blades are a single part, and centrifugal wheels.
Integrated impellers change the usual split between blade and hub. Instead of blades clamped onto a separate hub, the impeller is moulded as one part, which reduces the number of joints and can shorten the axial length of the fan. That matters on compact equipment where every millimetre of installation depth counts.
The same group covers the special material options. Where the air temperature or the chemical environment is beyond the standard PA6 range, impellers are produced in PA66 or in PES (polyethersulfone), and centrifugal wheels are supplied for installations where the airflow has to turn through a housing rather than pass straight through an axial fan.
| Type | Construction | Material | Typical duty | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PA66 impeller | Moulded blade on standard hub | PA66 | Higher temperature than standard PA6 blades | Quoted per project |
| PES impeller | Moulded blade, high-performance resin | PES | High temperature plus chemical exposure | Quoted per project |
| One-piece moulded fan | Hub and blades moulded as one part | Moulded composite | Compact units, short axial length | Quoted per project |
| Centrifugal wheel | Centrifugal impeller in a housing | Moulded composite | Ducted and housed airflow | Quoted per project |
These impellers are reviewed against the duty point, the temperature profile and the mounting interface before production; where a standard series meets the requirement it is normally the faster route.
Blade material is selected from the working temperature and from the atmosphere around the impeller:
| Material | Composition | Temperature range | Typical duty |
|---|---|---|---|
| PAG | PA6 with 30% glass fibre | -40 °C to 110 °C | Heavy-load cooling, anti-aging, general engine cooling |
| PAGAS | PA6 with 15% carbon fibre and 15% glass fibre (conductive) | -30 °C to 100 °C | Dust and gas atmospheres where static discharge must be avoided |
| ALU | Die-cast aluminium ADC12 | -40 °C to 150 °C, short-term 300 °C for 2 h | High-temperature and fire-resistance zones |
The conductive PAGAS option is supplied for equipment working in explosive-risk atmospheres such as dust or gas. It addresses the working environment of the blade; machine-level certification remains the responsibility of the equipment builder.
This series is normally specified for the following duties:
High-temperature cooling beyond the standard PA6 range
Customized integrated fan units
Centrifugal and housed airflow arrangements
Compact equipment with limited installation depth
When a fan is being specified or replaced, the following points are confirmed before a blade set is released. They are the same checks used for OEM programs and for retrofit projects.
Duty point: airflow and static pressure required at the working speed, taken from the cooling pack or ventilation requirement
Installation: available diameter, shroud clearance, mounting pattern and the shaft interface of the existing hub
Environment: maximum air temperature, dust or gas atmosphere, and whether static discharge has to be avoided
Drive: available power, belt or direct drive, and whether the fan has to reverse in service
Service: blade weight for handling during maintenance and spare-part availability across the machine fleet
Blade count, profile and material are then matched to those conditions in a fixed order: material first, then blade count, then hub family, with diameter confirmed against the shroud. Working in that sequence keeps the mechanical interface stable when the duty requirement changes later in the project, and it is why the same blade family can often stay in production while the cooling pack is revised.
Integrated and special-material impellers are produced against a released drawing and balanced on a hand laser balancing machine before shipment, so the assembly can be fitted without a separate balancing step in the field.
Blade count, blade profile, hub family and material can be customized for OEM programs, and existing fans can be reviewed when airflow, noise or durability has to be improved on a running machine. For standard axial duties the fixed-angle and adjustable-angle families remain the quickest route, with production models quoted directly from the catalogue.
