H Series

The H Series is UTEK-DELE's small fixed-angle axial fan blade range for the 300-600 mm impeller class, covering the P3H, S14H, S16H and S1H production models with 5-12 blades, PAG / PAGAS / ALU blade materials and H-6 to H-12 hub options.

H Series: Small Axial Fan Impellers for the 300-600 mm Class

The H Series is the small-diameter line of UTEK-DELE axial fan blades and impellers. It is designed for the 300-600 mm class of cooling fans, where a compact impeller has to move a large volume of air through a tight engine bay or a dense radiator core. Every H Series impeller is built from a fixed-angle blade that is matched to an H family hub, so the blade pitch, blade count and hub diameter can be combined to suit a specific radiator, shroud and duty point.

UTEK-DELE has manufactured axial fan blades and impellers since 2003, covering diameters from 300 mm to 2200 mm across sickle, airfoil, wide-chord and forward-swept blade profiles. The H Series sits at the small end of that range and shares the same blade material system, hub families and balancing routine as the medium and large series, which keeps spare-part and service planning consistent across a machine fleet.

Model Range and Specifications

Four H Series models are in series production: P3H, S14H, S16H and S1H. All four use a fixed blade angle and are available with 5 to 12 blades, so the same hub and blade family can be tuned for airflow, static pressure or noise depending on the application. Two further blade types in the same folder, 1XL and 2H, are produced for replacement and retrofit programs and are quoted on request.

Blade count, blade material and hub are selected together: a higher blade count generally raises static pressure at a given diameter, while a lower blade count favours airflow and reduces blade-passing noise. Because the H Series uses a fixed blade angle, the impeller is supplied ready to mount and does not require pitch adjustment in service.

Blade Materials and Temperature Range

Three blade materials are used across the H Series. The choice is driven by the temperature inside the engine bay and by whether the surrounding atmosphere is potentially explosive.

MaterialCompositionTemperature rangeTypical duty
PAGPA6 with 30% glass fibre-40 °C to 110 °CHeavy-load cooling, anti-aging, general engine cooling
PAGASPA6 with 15% carbon fibre and 15% glass fibre (conductive)-30 °C to 100 °CDust and gas atmospheres where static discharge must be avoided
ALUDie-cast aluminium ADC12-40 °C to 150 °C, short-term 300 °C for 2 hHigh-temperature and fire-resistance zones

The conductive PAGAS variant is specified for equipment working in explosive-risk environments such as dust or oil mist. It is offered as a material option for that working condition and is not a certified enclosure: machine-level certification remains the responsibility of the equipment builder.

Hub Options for the H Series

H Series blades are supplied with H family hubs. The hub sets the shaft interface and carries the blade loads, so it is chosen together with the blade count rather than after the fan is assembled.

Typical Applications

H Series impellers are used wherever a compact, robust cooling fan has to work continuously in dust, heat and vibration:

  • Engine radiator cooling on tractors, telehandlers and other mobile machinery

  • Engine cooling in narrow engine bays where the shroud clearance is limited

  • Construction machinery working in dust and high ambient temperature

  • Agricultural machinery, including harvesters and field equipment

  • Replacement impellers for existing H Series fan assemblies

Because the same blade family is used across several machine platforms, H Series blades are often kept as service parts: the blade, hub and material combination is recorded so a replacement impeller can be matched to the original fan assembly. Model-specific data sheets can be requested for each blade type when a replacement or retrofit is planned.

Quality Assurance and Dynamic Balancing

Each impeller is balanced on a hand laser balancing machine before shipment. Balancing is the step that keeps blade-passing vibration and bearing load predictable, and it is the reason blade count and hub are treated as a matched set rather than interchangeable parts. Material batches are recorded against the blade type, and the moulded blade geometry is controlled through production so that a replacement blade matches the original impeller.

Customization and Series Overview

Blade profile, blade count, hub family and material can be customized for OEM programs, and existing fans can be reviewed when airflow, noise or durability has to be improved on a running machine. The H Series is one of the small impeller options in the UTEK-DELE range; the same selection logic continues through the 4XR Series, the medium P, S, 7Z, K and R4Z series, and the large W and U series for industrial cooling towers and heat exchangers.
