PMAX3 High Pressure Axial Fan Blade | UTEK-DELE
The PMAX3 is a special-profile axial fan blade for high static pressure: 180-700 mm with nine blades on the PMAX plate hub, in PAG.
Industrial axial fan propellers are the complete air-moving unit — blades, matched hub and balanced assembly from 180 mm to 2200 mm — supplied ready to mount on the drive shaft.
An industrial axial fan propeller is the complete air-moving unit: the blades, the hub that carries them and the balanced assembly that mounts on the drive shaft. Buying a propeller rather than a loose set of blades is what keeps airflow, noise and the shaft interface under control in a single specification.
UTEK-DELE manufactures axial fan propellers from 180 mm up to 2200 mm, as fixed-angle and adjustable-pitch units, in moulded PAG, conductive PAGAS or die-cast aluminium. Every propeller leaves the workshop balanced, with the blade count, hub family and pitch setting recorded so a replacement propeller behaves like the one it replaces.
A propeller is treated as one part because the parts only work together:
Propeller blades — moulded or die-cast, in the blade count set by the duty point
A matched hub — H-6 to H-12 for small propellers, the Z family for medium, W-3 to W-10 for large units
The assembled and balanced unit, with the pitch set at assembly
A shaft interface that matches the drive on the machine
Because blade and hub are matched before balancing, a propeller can be fitted without a balancing procedure on site, and a spare propeller is a drop-in part rather than something that has to be trimmed in the field.
| Propeller class | Diameter range | Blade count | Hub options | Typical air-moving duty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small propellers | 180-745 mm | 5-12 | H-6 to H-12, PMAX plate | Engine and powertrain cooling in tight bays |
| Medium propellers | 250-1343 mm | 1-16 | Z-3 to Z-18 | Cooling towers, heat exchangers, HVAC, compressors |
| Large propellers | 560-2200 mm | 6-12 | W-3 to W-10 | Cooling towers, livestock houses, moving-air units |
Diameter sets the air volume a propeller can move at a given speed, and blade count sets how much of that volume is turned into static pressure. Large low-speed propellers move a high volume with little pressure; smaller fast propellers do the opposite. That single relationship decides most propeller selections.
| Material | Composition | Temperature range | Where it is used |
|---|---|---|---|
| PAG | PA6 with 30% glass fibre | -40 °C to 110 °C | General heavy-load propellers, anti-aging |
| PAGAS | PA6 with 15% carbon fibre and 15% glass fibre (conductive) | -30 °C to 100 °C | Dust or gas atmospheres where static discharge must be avoided |
| ALU | Die-cast aluminium ADC12 | -40 °C to 150 °C, short-term 300 °C for 2 h | High-temperature zones, fire-resistant equipment |
Propellers from this range are specified wherever air has to be moved continuously at moderate speed:
Cooling towers and large heat exchangers, where a big slow propeller is more efficient than a small fast one
Livestock houses and industrial ventilation, where noise and power consumption matter
High performance moving-air units and generator set cooling packages
Off-highway engine cooling where the propeller has to survive dust and high ambient temperature
Selection follows the same order every time, because changing a later step usually means going back to the first:
Diameter — fixed by the shroud or the fan ring available on the machine
Airflow and static pressure — the duty point the propeller has to meet at the working speed
Blade count — raised for pressure, lowered for airflow and lower blade-passing noise
Material — decided by the maximum air temperature and whether static discharge has to be avoided
Hub and shaft interface — confirmed against the existing drive before the propeller is released
For slow, large propellers the limit is normally mechanical: blade mass and hub rating set the maximum diameter that can be carried at the working speed, which is why large propellers are always quoted with their hub rather than as blades alone.
Every propeller is balanced on a hand laser balancing machine before shipment. On a 2200 mm unit this is not cosmetic: imbalance grows with diameter and blade mass, and it shows up as vibration, fastener loosening and bearing wear long before anything looks broken. The blade count, hub family and pitch setting are recorded for each propeller so a replacement can reproduce the original duty point.
Where a propeller is being replaced, the original diameter and blade count are confirmed first. Keeping those two values while matching the hub interface is normally enough to restore the airflow the machine was designed for.
The individual parts behind a propeller are covered on the separate pages for industrial axial fan blades (blade geometry, count and materials) and industrial axial fan impellers (balanced blade and hub assemblies). Production propellers in the large class are listed on the W Series, U Series and 9W axial fan pages.
