Air Cooling Systems — UTEK-DELE Axial Fan Range
A fan is more than a blade set. Between the impeller and the machine sit two components that are easy to overlook until a replacement is needed: the drive motor and the taper bush that adapts the fan hub to the shaft.
UTEK-DELE supplies both as part of the air cooling system range, so a fan assembly can be completed or repaired from one source. Because blade, hub and shaft adaptor are matched as a set, the drive components are selected together with the impeller rather than bought separately against a catalogue number.
Model Range and Specifications
| Component | Function in the assembly | Matched with | Product page |
|---|
| Motor | Drives the fan shaft at the working speed | Blade count and impeller diameter | fan motor |
| Taper bush | Clamps the hub to the shaft as a friction adaptor | Hub family (H, Z or W) | Quoted on request |
Both components are quoted against the fan assembly they belong to, so the shaft interface and the drive duty stay consistent when a fan is repaired.
Blade Materials and Temperature Range
Blade material is selected from the working temperature and from the atmosphere around the impeller:
| Material | Composition | Temperature range | Typical duty |
|---|
Typical Applications
This series is normally specified for the following duties:
Completing a fan assembly during build
Replacing a failed drive or worn shaft adaptor
Keeping spare parts on the same interface across a machine fleet
Service kits for cooling towers, gensets and process equipment
Specification Support
When a fan is being specified or replaced, the following points are confirmed before a blade set is released. They are the same checks used for OEM programs and for retrofit projects.
Duty point: airflow and static pressure required at the working speed, taken from the cooling pack or ventilation requirement
Installation: available diameter, shroud clearance, mounting pattern and the shaft interface of the existing hub
Environment: maximum air temperature, dust or gas atmosphere, and whether static discharge has to be avoided
Drive: available power, belt or direct drive, and whether the fan has to reverse in service
Service: blade weight for handling during maintenance and spare-part availability across the machine fleet
Blade count, profile and material are then matched to those conditions in a fixed order: material first, then blade count, then hub family, with diameter confirmed against the shroud. Working in that sequence keeps the mechanical interface stable when the duty requirement changes later in the project, and it is why the same blade family can often stay in production while the cooling pack is revised.
Quality Assurance and Dynamic Balancing
Drive components are supplied with the same traceability as the blades: the motor duty and the bush size are recorded together with the impeller they were matched to.
Customization and Series Overview
Blade count, blade profile, hub family and material can be customized for OEM programs, and existing fans can be reviewed when airflow, noise or durability has to be improved on a running machine. Where only the impeller is being replaced, the blade and hub set is ordered on its own and the existing drive components are reused.
